US Masters 2025 Predictions
The Masters is one of the biggest golf tournaments in the world. With a prize fund running into eight figures (it was worth a record $18 million in 2023), it’s an event that all professional golfers would be thrilled to win. They’re also just as keen to receive the famous Green Jacket that has been awarded to the victor since 1949.
The 2025 US Masters tournament begins on Thursday, 10 April and will conclude on Sunday, 13 April. Here are some of our top picks that we’ll be keeping a particularly close eye on:
Overall Winner
Picking the outright winner of the US Masters isn’t easy, but Scottie Scheffler looks to have an excellent chance on paper. He won this event in 2022 and 2024 (after finishing T19 and T18 in 2019 and 2020, respectively) and was a favourite to repeat the feat last year. Unfortunately, Scheffler’s 4-under par score in 2023 was only good enough to finish in tied 10th place. He’ll be hoping to do better this year, and the bookies think he has a decent chance because he’s the current favourite to win.
Quality Longshot
Those of you who want to back a quality longshot might do well to consider Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods. Johnson won in 2020 after finishing 20-under-par to set a new record for the lowest winning score. Tiger Woods has won the US Masters five times, with his 2019 success being the most recent.
Experienced Underdog
If you’re looking for a complete outsider to upset the bookies at the US Masters this year, Vijay Singh and José María Olazábal are both available at 750/1 or bigger. Singh will be participating here for the 30th time and won the event in 2000. Olazábal will be making his 34th appearance and won in 1994 and 1999.
Popular Masters Betting Offers
While this tournament takes place in the USA, it attracts a worldwide audience. That’s why all of the best betting sites in the UK give it just as much attention as any golf competition held in Britain. Masters betting offers tend to be most numerous in the weeks and days leading up to the first day of the tournament. But we know from past experience what kind of offers are likely to be available and where. Here, then, is what you can expect.
US Masters Free Bets
Betting on golf is always fun, but betting with the bookie’s money is even more so. Free bets allow you to do just that. Many bookmakers offer free bets to encourage their existing customers to look at particular opportunities, and the Masters is often one of them.
US Masters betting sites will normally give free bets only when you qualify by making a bet of your own first. You will probably be asked to make a bet at certain minimum odds or bigger, and the advertised free bets will be awarded to you when your own bet has been settled.
Betfred is a golf Masters betting site that gives free bets to new customers all year round. Right now, if you sign up using the code WELCOME40 and bet £10 at odds of 1/1 or bigger, you’ll get £30 in free bets to use on any sports market within seven days. And that will obviously include any golf market that you might be interested in.
While you can wait until the day of the tournament to start betting on the Masters, you don’t have to. At plenty of betting sites Masters ante-post markets will let you bet days, weeks or even months ahead of time.
You’ll find a detailed discussion about this topic in our Ante Post Betting guide. For now, the advantage of betting in advance is that you can often get bigger odds than you will on the first day of the event itself.
The potential disadvantage is that the form of your selected player might change between the time of your bet and the start of the tournament. Also, if you bet on a player who doesn’t take part – perhaps due to injury or illness, for example – your ante-post stake will be lost. Some Masters betting sites do, however, help to protect you against that loss, as we’ll see in the next section.
It isn’t difficult to find ante-post markets at sites that offer golf Masters betting. However, if you want a recommendation, William Hill has pre-tournament prices available months in advance.
The phrase ‘non-runner no bet’ is most commonly associated with betting on horse racing, but the same term can also be used in other sports. With this type of Masters 2024 betting offer, if you bet ante-post on a player who doesn’t participate, you won’t lose your stake. Instead, your wager will be declared a ‘no bet’, and your stake will be refunded.
This type of offer tends to be most advertised at Masters betting sites in the week or two before the tournament starts. However, Paddy Power states that all Outright golf bets made there are non-runner no bet, so you could bet on those terms today if you wanted to.
When you bet in outright winner markets, you will also be able to bet each way. That means you can get a return even if your player only manages to be one of the best runners-up. A basic outright winner market might pay for a top-five finish, but other Masters betting sites will offer extra places so that you have a better chance of being paid out.
Some Masters golf betting sites will even let you choose how many places you want to be paid out for. The odds that you get will depend on how many places you opt for. For example, at bet365, you can get paid for five, eight, or even ten places. This lets you select a market that best suits your confidence in your chosen player and your attitude towards risk.
Another offer that’s useful when betting on the Masters golf tournament is enhanced odds. Here, a betting site will deliberately give you a more generous price for a player than it would under normal circumstances.
And why would they do that, you ask? Well, this kind of deal is often made to attract attention to a particular player or market. If you would have bet on that player or in that market anyway, taking advantage of enhanced odds will put you in a position to make more profit if your bet succeeds.
BetMGM is a bookmaker that often likes to enhance its Masters betting odds. Explore the latest offers at their site before betting on this year’s tournament, and you might be glad you did!
As you’ll see shortly, there are lots of US Masters betting markets that you can get involved in. That means it’s possible to place several unrelated outcomes together in an accumulator bet in the hope of making a bigger profit if all of them succeed. And if you’d like to do that, an Acca Boost offer can give you an even greater reason to celebrate.
Basically, an Acca Boost will enhance your payout by a stated percentage. For example, if your accumulator bet has four legs, it might attract a 10% boost if it wins. But a five-leg accumulator might get a boost of 15% or even more.
QuinnBet has a great reputation for its Acca Bonus deals. Here, you can get a free bet worth up to £50 if your accumulator wins. The acca needs to have two legs or more (three or more if you also include a bet on a horse racing market) at odds of 3/10 or bigger per leg to qualify.
The final US Masters golf betting offer we’d like to highlight here is the welcome offer. These are available from all of our recommended golf betting sites at any time of the year. But it’s perfectly possible to take advantage of a few welcome offers when the Masters begins and put them to work for you during the tournament.
For example, if you were to head over to Spreadex right now, you could help yourself to £40 in free bets when you place a bet of £10 at odds of 1/2 or bigger. Your free bet bundle will give you 2 x £10 fixed odds bets, 4 x £5 free spread bets and a £1 Race Index spread bet.
For those of you who will be betting on the Masters for the first time, this is a tournament that is played over four rounds of 18 holes. One round is played on each day, from Thursday to Sunday. For the first two rounds, competitors play in groups of three, and you’ll find plenty of three-ball markets – which we’ll discuss later – at Masters betting sites.
After the first two rounds have been played, the scores are assessed, and a cut-off score is determined. This is done to reduce the number of players who can proceed to the final two rounds. Players who have performed well enough to proceed are said to have ‘made the cut’. Most bookmakers offering US Masters betting will have a market that lets you bet on whether or not your chosen player manages to do this.
At the end of the fourth round, the player at the top of the leaderboard will be declared the winner of the tournament. If there is a tie for first place, the players involved participate in a sudden-death playoff to determine the winner.
Popular Masters Betting Markets
Betting for the Masters is as varied as any golf fan could want it to be. You can bet on everything from who will win the tournament to whether or not someone will manage to make a hole-in-one. This diversity means there’s something for everyone, so let’s run through some of the most popular US Masters betting markets and explain how they work.
Tournament Winner
This is the market that most people are thinking about when they talk about Masters betting. It’s a straightforward bet on the player who you believe will win the tournament overall. If your selected player ends up wearing the Green Jacket, your bet will also succeed. But if your player fails to win the Masters, your bet will lose.
Top Finishes
Generally, around 90 to 100 players compete in the Masters, so picking the outright winner can never be described as easy. But it’s a great deal easier to select a player to finish in the top 5, 10, or even 20 on the final leaderboard. That’s what this market is all about.
While the odds you’ll get for a top finish aren’t as generous as the odds for the win, you’re more likely to succeed with this type of bet. You can also bet on several players to achieve a top finish and have a chance of seeing them all do exactly that.
Make the Cut
This is the Masters betting market to look at if you want to simply bet on a player to make the cut. It doesn’t matter if your selected player leads the field or gets through by the skin of his teeth. As long as he plays well enough in the first two rounds to make it through to the final two, your bet will win.
First Round Leader
The first-round leader market works in a similar way to the tournament winner market. The big difference here is that you’re selecting a player to be at the top of the US Masters leaderboard at the end of the first round. If he’s there, your bet will win, even if he plays abysmally in the second round and beyond.
Many bookmakers also offer similar markets for the second round, third round, and fourth round. That makes it possible to bet day by day as the tournament progresses.
Winning Margin
Here, your task is to predict the margin by which the tournament winner will beat the next best. This market will usually give you several options to choose from, such as Won in Playoff, 1 Stroke or More, 2 Strokes or More, 3 Strokes or More, and so on.
It’s important to note that you don’t have to predict which player will actually win – only the margin by which success will be achieved. That makes betting on US Masters winning margins considerably less challenging than it might first sound.
Betting Without
Some Masters betting sites will offer an alternative version to the tournament winner market that doesn’t include the favourite. You are most likely to see these during the tournament when one player has already established a significant advantage at the top of the leaderboard. A Betting Without market will ignore the excluded player for wagering purposes, allowing you to bet on any other player or players and still have a chance of winning.
Straight and Dual Forecast
Those of you who want even more of a challenge than predicting the tournament winner can have a go at making a Straight Forecast bet. This requires you to name the two US Masters players who will finish the tournament in first and second place in the correct order. A Dual Forecast costs two bets and will allow your two players to finish first and second in either order. These bets pay more than a straightforward tournament winner bet would, but they are obviously more difficult to win with.
Wire to Wire Winner
The Wire to Wire market is another that you might see at Masters betting sites. Here, you are betting that a player will dominate the tournament from start to finish. That means ending each round at the top of the leaderboard and winning the tournament overall.
In most cases, all this market requires is for you to bet on whether there will be a wire-to-wire winner or not, so your options will be Yes or No. There have only been five such winners in the history of the US Masters, with Jordan Spieth achieving the feat most recently in 2015. For that reason, you shouldn’t be surprised if the odds for No are quite a bit shorter than those for Yes.
Three Ball
We mentioned earlier that players go around the course in groups of three for the first two rounds of the US Masters. A three-ball market lets you bet on which of those players will have the best round each day. The big advantage here is that, with so few possible outcomes, you have a greater chance of landing a winning bet than in the tournament winner market.
Many people who enjoy betting on Masters golf like to make several such bets in different groups. And more than a few will put their selections together in an accumulator for the chance of having a bumper payday if they all oblige.
Lowest Round
Here, you can bet on what the lowest round score will be in the tournament. The bookmaker will quote a number of strokes and ask you to bet Over or Under. If the lowest round score is as you have predicted, your bet will win.
Group Betting
For these markets, the bookmaker will group several players of similar abilities together purely for betting purposes. You then bet on which player in the group will fare best. These group betting markets are designed to be competitive, but the odds available about the players involved will reflect that.
Top Category
You’ll find various top-category markets at the best Masters betting sites. Most commonly, the categories will be geographical in nature. For example, the Top European market will require you to predict which European player will perform best in the tournament.
We should stress here that your chosen player doesn’t have to win the tournament for this bet to succeed. He simply has to beat the other players that are in the same category.
Hole-in-One
The question you need to answer here is: Will there be a hole-in-one at the tournament? There have been 34 holes-in-one since the Masters began (you can see the official list of them here), so it isn’t at all unheard of. However, it also isn’t something that happens in every edition of the Masters by any means, so you’ll usually get better odds for predicting Yes than No.
US Masters Betting Tips
As you’ve seen, there is no shortage of markets at Masters betting sites, so you’ll never be lacking opportunities to put your golf knowledge to good use. And what’s the best way of doing that? There are no hard-and-fast rules on that topic, but we do have a few US Masters betting tips that should help you to stay on course:
Consider Past Performance
The most important thing that you can do prior to betting on any sporting event is to assess the past form of the competitors that will be taking part. The US Masters is no exception. Look at how players have fared here in the past, and give preference to those who have proven their ability to play the course well. This doesn’t guarantee that they will play well this time around, but it’s a far more reliable approach than risking your cash on someone will less impressive form.
Read the Sports Pages
Are any of the players taking part recovering from an injury or illness? Is a player only just getting over a nasty divorce? The physical, mental and emotional health of players is essential if they are to do well at Augusta. Make it a habit to read the sports pages of your favourite newspapers, journals and websites so that you can keep up to date with how players are faring both on and off the course. And only bet if a player is reported as being fit and ready to win.
Follow the Bookies
It’s the job of bookmakers to offer the lowest odds about the likeliest winners. It makes sense, therefore, to focus on players that are at the front of the betting. You don’t need to bet on the outright favourite (although there’s nothing at all wrong with that), but you do need a very good reason to bet on players who are rank outsiders.
Make Things Easy
As you’ve seen, some betting markets are easier to win in than others. If you’re relatively new to betting on the Masters, you would do well to focus on the easier options. That means betting on a player to get a top 10 or top 20 finish instead of winning the tournament outright. You won’t win as much by taking this approach, but at least you’ll have a better chance of winning in the first place.
Use Masters Betting Offers
Finally, be sure to take advantage of any betting sites golf Masters offers that are available to you. Sign up for new accounts to grab welcome offers, bet each way with sites that offer extra places, look out for Masters free bets, and so on. Depending on the offers you use, they can improve your chances of winning or reduce your potential losses, and both of those things can make all the difference between making a profit or loss at the tournament.
Masters Golf Live Streaming and TV Coverage
The US Masters is one of the biggest events on the golfing calendar, so the broadcast rights tend to be snapped up by just a handful of media networks. That means you’re very unlikely to find it being streamed live at online betting sites. As far as TV coverage is concerned in the UK, the exclusive rights to broadcast the tournament in 2024 have been secured by Sky Sports.
Previous US Masters Winners
More than a few previous winners of the US Masters have made headlines often enough to become household names. Just a few examples include Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods. Here are the most recent winners since 2010. Whether we’ll see a new name donning the Green Jacket in 2024 remains to be seen.

Ian Bruce joined Safest Betting Sites in 2024 as Senior Sports Editor to oversee the quality and usefulness of its gambling content. He originally developed an interest in betting after landing a winning Yankee on his first attempt. He then spent years figuring out how to replicate that success. Along the way, he became one of the UK’s leading writers on the topic of betting and gaming. Ian’s career has now spanned more than three decades, and his enthusiasm for systematic and responsible betting hasn’t waned one bit. However, his preferred approach to winning these days is Dutching, for the simple reason that “It’s a lot easier than landing Yankees.”
